Stockholm-based Baker McKenzie partner Erik Forsin has been recognized as leading practitioner in the Legal 500 Arbitration Powerlist: Nordics 2024. The prominent ranking showcases the leading practitioners working in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Legal 500 writes: "Arbitration in the Nordic countries, particularly Sweden and Finland, has seen significant growth and development in recent years. Arbitration practice in the Nordics serves as a testament to the advantage arbitrators can have when they factor in local procedural rules, particularly in relation to the rules on the taking of evidence, and not remaining fixated solely on international procedural rules."

Erik Forsin is a partner and heads Baker McKenzie’s Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Stockholm. He focuses primarily on international and domestic arbitration and litigation for Swedish and foreign companies with a particular emphasis on disputes within the fields of contentious M&A, company law, banking & finance and contractual disputes. He has been lead counsel in numerous arbitrations, mainly under the SCC Rules and ad hoc as well as co-counsel in several Sweden seated arbitrations under foreign laws. Erik has tried cases in all major courts in Sweden, including four cases before the Swedish Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2020, he worked at the Stockholm office of another global law firm. He also has experience from working in Swedish Courts and the Swedish Enforcement Agency. In addition to acting in commercial disputes Erik serves as an arbitrator and has completed the SCC Institute and Swedish Arbitration Association Arbitrator Training Program (Class of 2021/2022). He graduated from Stockholm University (LL.M., jur.kand.) in 2008.
