Baker McKenzie advised Hungarian venture capital firm Portfolion in completing an exit from the Szallas Group, an online accommodation booking company operating via Szallas.hu. The buyer is Wirtualna Polska Holding, a Polish e-commerce public company based in Warsaw.

The transaction is expected to close in the fall of 2022, in which case Wirtualna is bound to pay approximately EUR 82 million (almost HUF 33 billion) to the ownership group of Portfolion and private individuals.

Senior Counsel Pál Takács led the Baker McKenzie team, with support from Senior Associate Dániel Orosz.

Speaking on the transaction, Dániel said: "We succeeded in concluding the transaction and ensuring a high deal of certainty for both parties. We now hope to close the deal as soon as possible."
