Chambers & Partners Selects Baker McKenzie as “Outstanding Firm for Diversity & Inclusion” at their 2022 North America Diversity & Inclusion Awards

Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce it has been named “Outstanding Firm for Diversity & Inclusion” at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America 2022, which "celebrate the important achievements of firms, companies and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across the USA and Canada."

This prestigious award recognizes a firm that is demonstrating measurable impact in advocating for and implementing an inclusive work environment.

Chambers recognized the Firm's significant diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategic efforts designed to address global and local community diversity and inclusion needs, aimed at advancing an inclusive workplace for all. These initiatives include the Firm’s global Sponsorship Program, LIFT, a highly successful leadership development effort that supports women in progressing to senior leadership roles; the bConnected program, a 12-month comprehensive program for mid-level lawyers of color focused on mentorship; and our strengthened inclusive networks including the North America I&D Committee, North America Antiracism Task Force, BakerPride+Allies and BakerWomen.

Our membership to The Valuable 500, supporting the global mission to make businesses more inclusive of people with disabilities, and our role as signatory to the American Bar Association's Pledge for Change: Disability Diversity in the Legal Profession, further signify the Firm's commitment to raising awareness and understanding — moving the needle towards a culture of full inclusion.

"We are thrilled to have been chosen for this highly regarded award by Chambers," said Anna Brown, Baker McKenzie's Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer. "Congratulations to all those recognized this year. We are proud to stand among other firms, businesses and individuals who are all committed to creating a sustainable culture of full inclusion.”

Colin Murray, Baker McKenzie's North America Chief Executive Officer, added, "This award is indicative of our multifaceted inclusion, diversity and equity efforts both within our Firm and within our communities. Our focus remains on becoming the employer of choice, where all of our people feel valued, have a sense of belonging and are comfortable being their authentic selves in the workplace.”

The award ceremony took place last night, 9 June, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
