Maria-Fernanda Uzcátegui
Biography
María-Fernanda Uzcátegui has been a member of the Firm since 2018 and she is part of the practice groups of Corporate Law (M&A/PE), Banking & Finance and Tax.
María-Fernanda started in the Firm as a law clerk and recently became a junior associate. She is an active member of the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee since 2018. Since 2021 María-Fernanda has been the teaching assistant of Property Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Tax Law at Universidad Católica and recently started as teaching assistant of Property Law at Universidad Monteávila.
Practice Focus
María-Fernanda has assisted national and international clients in the preparation of service agreements, and transnational transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. She has assisted in cross-border projects from a Venezuelan corporate perspective, that include comprehensive corporate counseling and in international trade transactions subject to customs and exchange control regulations.
María-Fernanda has been recently working on M&A transactions at a transnational and local level. She has actively participated in global reorganization projects of major companies involving Venezuela. María-Fernanda has vast experience assisting clients on the contractual aspect of M&A transactions and with the implementation side of such deals. Currently, her practice is focused towards the practical aspects with the incorporation, dissolution and liquidation of legal entities.
