
Eric Thianpiriya
Biography
Eric Thianpiriya joined Baker McKenzie in April 2014 and is a partner in the Firm's Energy, Resources, Infrastructure and Corporate group. He has considerable international experience, having previously spent eight years working in London, at both a Magic Circle and Silver Circle firm. Prior to practising in London, he worked as a tipstaff to a judge of appeal at the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Practice Focus
Eric advises on a broad range of transactions covering both private and public M&A. His practice has more recently focused on major infrastructure and government sale processes. He routinely acts for a number of large investment funds, both Australian and international, including a number of sovereign wealth and pension funds, and has considerable public M&A experience, particularly in relation to IPOs and secondary offerings.
Eric is qualified in New South Wales and England and Wales.
Representative Legal Matters

Advised sovereign wealth funds, superannuation/pension funds and investment managers on their Australian and international investments, particularly in relation to major infrastructure assets.

Regularly advised corporates and funds on their consortium/joint venture arrangements.

Provided general corporate advice to a variety of corporates, including portfolio companies held by investment fund clients.

Regularly advised on all aspects of the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975 (Cth), particularly with respect to "Foreign Government Investors".

Acted for a variety of private and listed clients in relation to a wide range of private and public M&A, including private sale and purchases, takeovers, by way of offer and scheme of arrangement, corporate reorganisations, and in particular with respect to IPOs and secondary fundraisings.
