Mathew Slootsky
Biography
Mathew Slootsky is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Miami office and a member of the Firm’s Private Capital Practice Group. He advises clients on a wide range of domestic and international tax matters. Mathew also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami Law School’s Graduate Tax Program.
Practice Focus
Mathew advises investors, funds, and US and multinational companies on the federal income tax aspects of complex domestic and cross‑border transactions. He has experience with private and public mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, partnerships, financial transactions, and real estate investment. He counsels clients on the monetization of federal tax incentives for renewable energy development and on the structuring of investment in such projects. Mathew brings a practical, commercially focused approach to helping clients implement efficient tax and investment strategies.
