Biography

Reginald Sainvil is a member of the Firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency Practice based in the Miami office. He regularly represents corporate debtors, financial institutions, indenture trustees, investors, and secured and unsecured creditors in domestic and international corporate restructurings, liquidations, and distressed financings and acquisitions.

Practice Focus

Reginald has broad advisory and litigation experience with complex issues that arise in reorganizations, restructurings, receiverships, workouts, liquidations, and distressed acquisitions and sales, in both domestic and cross-border situations and proceedings. He defends creditors in bankruptcy-related contested matters and adversary proceedings, including preference and fraudulent transfer litigation. He also handles complex commercial litigation issues arising from business disputes, advises parties to financial contracts regarding safe harbor protections, and provides strategic advice on the optimum structuring of transactions.

Representative Legal Matters

Prior to joining the Firm, Reginald handled the following matters:

  • Represented the court-appointed fiduciary for a commercial lending business in jointly administered Chapter 11 Cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

  • Represented a pharmaceutical company with over USD 100 million in liabilities in its Chapter 11 case in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

  • Represented a regional leader in the distribution of thermal insulation products with over USD 10 million in liabilities in its Chapter 11 Case in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

  • Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 case of a transportation and logistics company in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.

  • Represented the receiver in the judicial dissolution of a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Florida.
