Biography

Hailey Perkins is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Chicago office and is a member of the Firm’s Employment & Compensation Practice Group.

Prior to joining the Firm, Hailey was a law clerk in the Office of General Counsel at the University of Oregon and also worked as an associate at a regional law firm in Colorado. In 2022, she was named Up & Coming Lawyer by Law Week Colorado.

Throughout her career, Hailey has been committed to incorporating pro bono work in her practice, including participating on the Civil Pro Bono Panel for the US District Court, District of Colorado.

She is also a member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and Faculty of Federal Advocates, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of legal practice in Colorado's federal courts.

Practice Focus

Hailey's practice covers a wide range of litigation and arbitration matters, including wage and hour class action, discrimination, harassment, noncompete, FLSA, ADA and OSHA. She has experience defending clients against union grievances, unfair labor practice claims, and administrative claims with EEOC and state-equivalent agencies.

Additionally, Hailey advises clients on employment agreements, separation agreements, handbooks and corrective action plans. She also conducts internal investigations concerning employee complaints.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Defended large construction company in mediation process and arbitration related to single plaintiff claims of discrimination on the basis of sex and retaliation.
  • Advised logistics company on federal and state-level WARN Act process and implemented required notices.
  • Defended bank on allegations of enforcement of restrictive covenants against newly hired executives from past employers.
  • Advised transportation company on defending collective action alleging unpaid wages and overtime under the FLSA and state-equivalent law.
  • Led utility company through a campaign attempting to unionize portion of the workforce and crafted communication to educate employees on process and voting.
