Biography

Mr. Martin is a principal in the Houston office of Baker McKenzie and a member of the Firm’s tax practice group. He has a broad range of experience in all areas of federal income tax law, with an emphasis on international tax planning, global tax minimization (including supply chain and IP planning) and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Martin represents clients in a wide variety of industries (including energy, fashion and other retail, medical device, pharma and high tech) across the US and globally.

Mr. Martin is a member of the Texas office management team, currently chairs the Texas office tax group, and previously served as Baker McKenzie's Tax Planning and Transactions sub-practice chair for several years. Mr. Martin has been recognized as a leader in the area of international taxation by multiple ranking publications, and he brings a practical and creative approach to tax planning and advising his clients. Mr. Martin has extensive knowledge and experience with both US and foreign tax laws, all of which must come together to achieve success in international tax planning.
