Richard is a recognised leading mergers and acquisitions lawyer. He has 30 years' experience in acting for bidders and targets focusing on public mergers and acquisitions (M&A) including takeovers and schemes of arrangement, as well as initial public offerings and capital raisings. His focus consequently covers international transactions, the Takeovers Panel, directors' duties, private mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance advice, Listing Rules compliance, Corporations Act advice, and capital restructurings.
Richard coordinates many clients using Baker McKenzie worldwide, and travels frequently in the Asia Pacific region including Japan. Richard acts as the Baker McKenzie client relationship partner for most of the clients mentioned below, and enjoys close relationships with them and their corporate advisors. Richard was seconded to each of Fosters and Coles, and has a good understanding of the client's perspective of the function of its legal advisers.
