Biography

Albert Lee is a special counsel in Baker McKenzie's Hong Kong office and a member of the Firm's Real Estate Practice Group. Albert's practice focuses on advising on a full range of real estate matters from project conveyancing, commercial real estate M&A, large scale leasing projects, real estate finance to acquisition projects for redevelopment purpose, among others.

Practice Focus

Albert's practice focuses on advising on a full range of real estate matters from conveyancing, development and project work, drafting and applying for the approval of the DMC, and advising generally on the compliance of the provisions of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance.

Furthermore, Albert has been handling a substantial volume of due diligence on real estate title in Hong Kong. He is very experienced in analyzing title issues, their impact on the interest of the purchaser/encumbrancer concerned and advising clients on positions to take and remedial measures for title issues.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of a listed company on the sub-division of a commercial accommodation comprising more than 300 shopping units and the sale thereof to various individual purchasers in a public sale scheme.
  • Advised the registered owner of a Car Park on the sale of more than 450 car parking spaces to various purchasers and its preparation of the sub-deed of mutual covenant.
  • Advised a listed company on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of and shareholder's loan advanced to a corporate vehicle which holds a Hong Kong property site for redevelopment purpose.
  • Advised a Hong Kong car park service provider on the matters relating to the application of its subsidiary to the management company for its consent to convert the user of portion of the car park in a commercial building to office use. 
  • Advised the developer on the development known as "Mayfair By The Sea 8" 
  • Advised a statutory body on various acquisition projects for redevelopment purpose.
  • Advised the wholly owned subsidiary of a statutory body on various joint sale by co-owners of buildings and public tender projects.
  • Advised the developer on the development known as  "One Victoria" 
  • Advised the developer on the development to be erected on NKIL No. 6554.
