Biography

Hee Eun (Erin) Kim is a competition lawyer with extensive experience across Asia and Europe. She brings over a decade of in-house leadership experience, having served as lead antitrust counsel for a multinational semiconductor and smartphone manufacturer and subsequently as head of APAC competition policy for a leading global social media platform.

Erin advises multinational clients on all aspects of competition law, including investigations, merger control, compliance, and counselling on partnerships, products, and go-to-market strategies. She has particular focus on digital platform regulation and competition issues at the intersection of AI, data, and intellectual property, including regulatory strategy for complex digital ecosystems. Recognised for her thought leadership in digital competition law and policy, she regularly speaks at international conferences and works closely with regulators, industry bodies, and academic institutions to help shape technology regulation globally.

She previously served as a non-governmental advisor (NGA) to the European Commission (2019–2023) and as a visiting policy fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford (2024–2026).

Practice Focus

Erin focuses on competition law and digital regulation, advising multinational technology companies on complex investigations, merger control, and compliance. Her practice includes strategic counselling on commercial arrangements, platform ecosystems, and partnerships, with deep experience navigating complex competition risks in digital and innovation-driven markets. She supports clients on cross-border matters and regulatory initiatives affecting digital services, including AI and emerging technologies, combining legal analysis with policy insight to deliver practical, business-focused solutions.

  • Advised a global technology company on multijurisdictional litigation and investigations involving competition issues in the semiconductor sector.
