John Gustafson
Biography
John Gustafson is a partner in Baker McKenzie's EMEA private equity practice group. John has more than 15 years of experience in M&A and private equity. He advises leading Nordic and European private equity firms and their portfolio companies and international corporates.
John serves as Head of Transactional Nordics, leading the firm’s Private Equity, Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets teams in the Nordics.
Practice Focus
He regularly advises Nordic clients investing in the region and globally, as well as investors from broader Europe, USA and Asia investing into the Nordics, in high-profile complex buy-outs and divestments. He is also experienced in management investment programs, carve-outs and reorganizations.

- OptiGroup, a leading player in the business-to-business distribution market, from Triton and Altor, and the simultaneous acquisition and combination with Hygas, a leading Benelux business-to-business distributor
- Fellowmind, through the simultaneous combination of three leading Microsoft partners in Europe across the Netherlands, Sweden and Finland
- Nordlo, through the simultaneous combination of 20 independent IT consultancy providers to form a leading IT operations services provider
