Biography

Diogo Duarte de Oliveira is a partner in charge of the Tax Department of Baker McKenzie's Luxembourg office. He has over 16 years of experience. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2019, Diogo was tax partner and head of tax at the top-ranked practice of a Benelux leading law firm. He was also an international corporate tax manager with a Big Four audit firm in Luxembourg (and in Mexico City as a secondee).

Practice Focus

Diogo advises asset managers and a wide range of private and institutional investors on fund raising, management incentive strategies and transactions’ structuring. 

Diogo contributes regularly to renowned international tax journals and is a regular speaker at international conferences. In 2018, Diogo was a guest speaker at the IBA Congress in Rome to address EC’s approach to Illegal (Tax) State Aid and in 2019 he was a guest speaker at IBA Congress in London to address Mandatory Disclosures under the so-called DAC 6.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, some of his recent notable projects include:

  • Assisting Rhône Group and WeWork on their joint UK and US real estate investments.
  • Assisting the Accor Group’s reorganization, carving out the hotel business and creating the Luxembourg platform and management incentive program
