Biography
Pamela Church chairs the Firm's North America Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. She also served as a Steering Committee member of the Firm's Global Consumer Goods and Retail Industry Group.
Pamela has been consistently recognized as a leader in Intellectual Property by Chambers USA and the Legal 500 USA, as well as an "IP Star" by Managing IP since 2012. World Trademark Review recognized Pamela in 2021 with gold band ranking in the area of prosecution and strategy, and included her in their 2021 WTR Global Leaders Guide. In 2020, Managing IP also recognized Pamela as one of the "Top 250 Women in IP." and in 2019 she was honored as the exclusive winner of the 2019 Client Choice IP – Trademarks award for New York.
She has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and implementing transactions involving the acquisition, development, exploitation and sale of IP rights, including mergers and acquisitions, licenses, joint ventures, strategic alliances, research and development collaborations, digital publishing, e-commerce, outsourcing and corporate finance transactions.
Practice Focus
Pamela counsels major media, publishing, entertainment, technology, life sciences, consumer, fashion and luxury goods companies in the establishment and implementation of comprehensive IP protection and management programs. She is an expert in IP issues arising in transactions, tax controversies and restructurings. She also handles a wide array of legal and compliance issues affecting e-commerce and advertising and marketing, particularly involving new technologies and the emerging opportunities and risk management issues presented by digital and social media platforms. She negotiates sponsorship and endorsement contracts including celebrity licensing, clears advertising for use in online and off-line media, handles product placement and media production agreements and advises on federal and state regulations governing promotions, including contests, sweepstakes, charitable sales co-ventures and loyalty programs.
