Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie has been shortlisted in two categories for the 2025 FT Innovative Lawyers, Europe Awards. Now in their 20th year, the awards, which celebrate the best examples of lawyers using influence and creative problem solving to help guide clients towards agile, sustainable outcomes, will take place on 18 September in London.
Baker McKenzie has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Innovation in productizing legal services - 'Rapid AI-enabled global cybersecurity incident response'
- Innovation in digital strategy - 'Baker McKenzie’s GenAI Program'
Baker McKenzie has been tracking developments in AI since 2017 and subsequently set up its machine learning practice, BakerML, back in 2021—well before other BigLaw firms established their AI practices. Its firmwide program unites a diverse team of experts, and is strategically designed to amplify productivity, pioneer novel client services and AI legal acumen, and elevate quality and efficiency for both its people and its clients.
The Firm’s Rapid AI-enabled global cybersecurity incident response is a vertically integrated service combining AI, legal expertise, and dynamic regulatory content to address the complexity of multi-jurisdictional data incidents. While many firms apply generic solutions, Baker McKenzie’s offering is purpose-built to meet the speed and nuance required in real-world response.
The shortlist follows recent news that Baker McKenzie has been recognized as one of the top 20 most innovative global law firms of the last 20 years by The Financial Times, as the publication celebrates 20 years of the FT Innovative Lawyers. Partner and Chief Innovation Officer Ben Allgrove was also recognized as one of the 20 most innovative lawyers of the past two decades, in the ‘intrapreneurs’ category.
