Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce the promotion of Mostafa Lotayef to partner in its Cairo office, highlighting the Firm’s continued investment in the MENA region. Additionally, Baker McKenzie announced the promotion of 59 lawyers to partner , effective 1 July 2025, with the exception of colleagues based in North America and some locations in Latin America, whose promotions took effect earlier in calendar year 2025. With 48 lateral partners also joining Baker McKenzie's offices this financial year, the Firm has added a total of 107 partners globally since 1 July 2024.

Mostafa Lotayef, Counsel at Baker McKenzie Cairo, has been promoted to partner. Mostafa's practice focuses on banking, finance and energy, mining, and infrastructure projects. Lately, he has been leading the office's efforts in the fintech sector and financial service regulations (FSR) including mobile banking, digital payments, BNPL services, and other cutting-edge financial technologies.  

Additionally, over the last financial year, the Firm welcomed three new lateral partners in MENA across a range of key practices, including Khalid Alyafi, who joined as a partner in our Transactional Practice Group, based in Riyadh, Sally Kotb who joined the Firm as a dispute resolution partner based in Dubai, and Dino Wilkinson, who joined the Firm as a partner and Head of the Firm's Middle East Data, Cyber and Technology practice based in Abu Dhabi.
