Leading global law firm, Baker McKenzie announces the appointment of a new Local Partner, Davide Chiesa, two new Counsels, Marzio Bucciol and Federico Franconi, a Senior Counsel, Alessia Raimondo, and an Of Counsel, Tiziana de Virgilio. In addition, Baker McKenzie announced the promotion of 59 lawyers to partner1, effective 1 July 2025, with the exception of colleagues based in North America and some locations in Latin America, whose promotions took effect earlier in calendar year 2025. With 48 lateral partners also joining Baker McKenzie's offices1 this financial year, the Firm has added a total of 107 partners globally since 1 July 2024.
Davide Chiesa, active in the Tax department, advises domestic and international clients on the tax structuring of M&A transactions, corporate reorganizations, and transfers of real estate portfolios, with a focus on cross-border operations. He also regularly assists with tax audits and alternative dispute resolution procedures in international tax matters, contributing to the definition of conciliatory solutions in complex and transnational contexts.
Marzio Bucciol, also working in the Tax team, provides tax advice at both national and international levels, with a particular focus on corporate and real estate taxation and extraordinary transactions. He is also involved in assisting with tax audits and alternative dispute resolution procedures. Marzio has gained significant experience in implementing Tax Control Frameworks for major Italian and multinational groups.
Also promoted within the Tax department is Federico Franconi, who specializes in international taxation, with a focus on issues such as permanent establishments, transfer pricing, and the management of complex tax litigation. Federico has supported numerous multinational groups during tax audits and judicial proceedings, contributing to the development of defense strategies and managing relationships with tax authorities. He also advises multinational clients on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations, with particular attention to cross-border tax aspects.
Alessia Raimondo, a senior member of the Employment team led by partner Massimiliano Biolchini, coordinates the group dedicated to managing employment aspects of M&A transactions and corporate reorganizations, from due diligence to post-closing activities. Her work includes strategic advice to companies on personnel management and industrial relations, as well as assistance in negotiations with employees. Alessia has also developed specific expertise in commercial agency matters.
Tiziana de Virgilio, part of the same Employment team, focuses her practice on legal advice and assistance—both in and out of court—on labor law and workplace health and safety, as well as on managing contracts and outsourcing processes along production chains. She is particularly experienced in designing and auditing Organizational and Management Models under Article 30 of Legislative Decree 81/2008, including integrated compliance models under Legislative Decree 231/2001. Tiziana also deals with issues related to social sustainability in ESG frameworks, the twin transition, and the impact of AI and new technologies on the world of work.
