Description
The Tax Analyst will support the Director of Tax in the preparation and review of the Firm's tax returns and supporting schedules with the primary focus being on Sales and Use taxation; assist in the preparation and delivery of tax packages to partners during tax season.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of tax packages to partners
- Prepare and analyze sales and use tax data to assist in the preparation of sales and use tax returns for multiple states
- Provide support for a tax audit, including the gathering of supporting information and documentation
- Maintain the Firm's fixed asset books and related reconciliation schedules
- Gather and verify all financial data necessary to prepare tax returns
- Prepare excise tax returns
- Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments
- Conduct tax research
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification or currently pursuing CPA certification preferred
- Appropriate, relevant experience in public accounting
- Law firm/professional services experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on MS Excel and Word
- Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented approach
- Strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Developed critical thinking skills and a high level of intellectual curiosity
