Description
The Technical Advisor/Patent Agent will provide high quality specialist support on IP matters with a particular focus on assisting with patent drafting and prosecution on behalf of the Firm's clients. This is a great opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in patent law. While the position is based in Tampa, the candidate will be required to train for a few months at Baker McKenzie, Dallas.
We are looking for someone who has a very strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to liaise with people at all levels of the organization.
Your primary responsibility will be to support the Firm's Global IP practice on a range of matters including aspects of the following:
- Assisting with preparation of patent applications and responses to Official Actions from Patent Offices around the world
- Assisting with preparation of client reporting emails
- Assisting with docket and deadline management and other patent-related tasks as required from time to time
Skills and Experience:
Essential criteria:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related science
- Strong academic background with excellent written and oral communication skills
Technical and personal skills:
- Some patent preparation and prosecution experience is preferred though not required
- Strong academic background
