Description

The HR Business Partner will act as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues, act as an employee champion and change agent; assess and anticipate HR-related needs and seek to develop integrated solutions; identify the organisational and people priorities, adopt a pro-active responsive approach and deliver best practice HR solutions to become an established and trusted advisor within the business; formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the Firm's objectives.
 
This role will play an essential part in working with the Tampa Center management teams to ensure that the People agenda is at the forefront of what we do.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support Managers in managing Employee Relations issues, ensuring they are dealt with both professionally, legally, & in a timely manner
  • Coach, support & challenge managers in delivering the people plan, developing teams, and managing performance in line with Firm policy
  • Assess employee training and development needs based on business strategy in order to help close gaps between current and future skill sets
  • Provide accurate, timely, practical advice on all HR & employee relations matters ensuring best practice processes are delivered which are in alignment with current federal/state employment laws
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with legal as needed/required
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Play a lead role in managing and overseeing programs like Tampa Centre Affinity Groups, Sports/Social Committee, and Employee Appreciation Week
  • Advise and consult on all HR policies and procedures, make or recommend appropriate decisions
  • Provide support and guidance on structure changes, role changes, job details, salary grading & benchmarking
  • Monitor the effectiveness of HR programmes & initiatives to ensure the business can attract, develop & retain high performing colleagues
  • Responsible for serving as a subject matter expert and resource for SuccessFactors implementation
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong, relevant experience at the generalist level with a focus on employee relations
  • In-depth working knowledge and understanding of federal/state laws as well as HR legislation, principles, policies and procedures
  • Significant experience dealing with various employee relations issues and working with managers/leaders to address as appropriate
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into HR priorities
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly assimilate new information
  • Ability to build and leverage effective relationships and influence decisions and behaviours through collaboration
  • Strong use of independent judgment to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation
  • Ability to develop solutions to a wide range of highly complex problems, requiring creativity and innovation
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Proven ability to manage through ambiguity and change; shows personal commitment to embracing and adapting to change
  • Good coaching and counselling skills
  • Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Possess strong judgment and ability to make well-reasoned independent decisions
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Prior experience coaching and leading others
