Description
The GenAI Training and Development Lead will develop the GenAI training in line with the Firm and Knowledge strategy. The role holder will be required to identify and implement initiatives to support the development of lawyers and business professionals at all GenAI awareness, skills, and understanding levels. They will address engagement with GenAI training through collaborative working with key stakeholders and support the improvement of the volume, use, relevancy, and quality of training, including appropriate use of GenAI, PG/Sector-specific use, and GenAI prompts. In particular, the individual will oversee and contribute to developing GenAI training resources relating to lawyer-facing and enterprise GenAI solutions in support of the Firm's Generative AI program.
In this role, the individual will enable a close working relationship between Knowledge, Leadership & Learning (L&L) and the Technology training teams to develop, improve, and maintain a high-quality GenAI training service benefitting lawyers, clients, and the Knowledge community, optimizing efficiency, innovation, Knowledge, L&L and technology systems and use of Services teams in the Centers. They will oversee the governance of GenAI training content throughout its lifecycle, driving adherence to appropriate policies, standards, best practice, adoption, tracking, and ensuring the accessibility and inclusivity of training to and for all.
Responsibilities:
Service Orientation:
- Support the Global Director of Knowledge and the Knowledge leadership team in:
- The development of GenAI training strategies and plans that best meet the needs of stakeholders and add real value to the business, ensuring alignment with Firm and Knowledge strategies, working closely with
- The L&L and Technology training teams to ensure seamless collaboration and output of genAI training products, services to lawyers and clients, cross-functional approaches, and projects
- The Core GenAI Leadership team and the Knowledge community to implement the GenAI training strategies in line with the goals of the with the goals of Firm's generative AI programme and recommendations from the Firm’s leadership team
- The Service teams in the Centers to ensure consistency of the quality of GenAI training support services and to track the engagement and adoption of the GenAI training and materials
- Ensure the design, governance, structure, quality, and alignment of GenAI training takes place and does so per policy and best practice, as well as the leveraging and promotion of that content in new and innovative ways
- Deliver appropriate GenAI training in line with the goals of the Firm's generative AI programme, including ensuring the integration of mandatory training as new genAI tools are adopted as well as ongoing training and education, particularly in support of lawyer service delivery
- Work with L&L and Technology training teams to ensure the findability and accessibility of live and on-demand GenAI training resources
- Ensure there are proper levels of engagement with GenAI training by attorneys, establishing proactive feedback and ongoing development of training materials; constantly working towards improving the customer experience, and making sure that user feedback is incorporated
- Ensure GenAI training is accessible and inclusive for all
- Build new and develop existing, strong, and productive relationships in the Knowledge, L&L, and Technology communities and business ensuring attentive listening and clear communication
- Drive change and efficiency across the Firm about the adoption and use of GenAI ensuring that the business is ready to adopt and accept change, using appropriate change management strategies
- Be known in the Firm as a GenAI training and development expert and go-to person for the resolution of issues and business solutions for GenAI training
- Support all such other training needs as may be required from time to time
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Maintain and continually develop subject matter expertise with high levels of practical end-user engagement and delivery, actively aware of developments within the market, GenAI solutions, new practices and approaches, and the legal arena, actioning any relevant implications
- Understand and document the complex and evolving business requirements of attorneys and Knowledge professionals across the Baker McKenzie network about GenAI
- Work with Knowledge and business stakeholders to map GenAI training requirements and design workable solutions based on GenAI, Knowledge, and L&L tools, systems, and processes
Operational efficiencies, quality, and risk mitigation:
- Manage GenAI training to maintain quality assurance and minimize business impact and risk, escalating any challenges promptly where appropriate
- Contribute to global communications on GenAI initiatives to enable cross-cultural working, identifying and overcoming cultural differences to deliver workable solutions
- Support all business aspects of the lifecycle of GenAI training
- Ensure and plan for continual improvement and evolution of GenAI training
- Implement processes and solutions for measuring the effectiveness/ROI of GenAI training programmes
- Work with training stakeholders to ensure GenAI training materials are accessible via the relevant learning and Knowledge platforms
Experience Required
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant undergraduate degree (required) and Qualified lawyer with strong post-qualification experience (desirable)
- Significant experience with GenAI and other AI tools in a professional environment
- Ability to work well with others and to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders quickly
- Experience in facilitating groups and training
- Outstanding communicator who can deal confidently, tactfully, and appropriately with people at all levels of the organization
- Credible and persuasive with excellent presentation skills
- Experience in leading and managing projects and people
- Comfortable working within a large and complex, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and interest groups
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and a sense of urgency in setting strategies and executing against the objectives
- Significant experience in designing and implementing legal training solutions in a law firm environment is desirable
- Fluent written and spoken English is required
