Description
The Senior Manager, Accounting Operations and Reporting, US will lead the team of Record-to-Report (R2R) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) business partners in the maintenance of the financial integrity and general ledger and balance sheet accuracy for the U.S. market in relation to all financial accounting and accounts payable processes. This entails close collaboration with the Service Centers in processing and adhering to standardized and streamlined R2R and P2P processes. The role holder is also responsible for managing cash flow activities and banking operations for the U.S. market. This role will work very closely with the Associate Director of Accounting and Reporting on the annual budget process and other financial accounting and reporting projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the US in-market team of R2R and P2P business partners across the R2R and P2P processes and guidelines to ensure day-to-day accounting and accounts payable activities (fees, expenses, Partner disbursements, monthly close of local ledger and balance sheet, etc.) are managed as per agreed SLAs and within timelines
- Act as escalation point and lead issue resolution and problem solving for complex issues. Address process and people issues as they arise; coordinate as needed with Center personnel or Service Owners and Center leadership to resolve process or capacity issues
- Ensure PBS21 initiatives are implemented in alignment with strategy and guidelines set by Expert Functions and Global Process Owners and functional managers to identify and implement continuous improvements
- Ensure compliance with US tax and statutory items including sales and use tax, 1099 compliance, and escheatment due diligence and filing
- Help improve adoption and compliance with usage of corporate cards and expense management tools such as Chrome River within the market
- Oversee updates of vendor master data including employee and timekeeper details for ACH and cross border wire updates, with emphasis on confidentiality of all banking information in compliance with local and foreign banking regulations
- Work closely with Firm's Treasury department to ensure cash flow activities, banking operations, and other treasury duties in line with agreed policy and practice
- Ensure all team members are proficient and provide ongoing support, training, and coaching as necessary. Identify training gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Accounting and Reporting in the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with the completion of the NAO annual budgets and other financial accounting and reporting initiatives
- Support the leadership on firm wide initiatives and special projects
Success factors:

Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation highly preferred
- Some experience in public accounting as an auditor is required
- Strong experience as a direct supervisor/manager of a team is required
- Significant relevant Accounting experience. Global professional services organization experience is preferred
- Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders regarding finance processes, guidelines and compliances
- Demonstrated expertise in operational efficiency and financial accounting. Strong in project management and systemic thinking
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk and take decisive, appropriate actions, especially in the case of exception requests
- Ability to network and collaborate with teams both regional and global, while acknowledging their cultural, social and academic diversity
- Working proficiency in using MS Office and other Productivity Tools
