Description

The support and services that the Global Infrastructure Network Operations Team provide are maintaining Baker and McKenzie Infrastructure, Telecommunications, and Networks. Its main mission is to ensure that staff enjoys an environment of network computing and telecommunication technologies for enhancing and furthering company goals. Some specific responsibilities and functions include the administration, analysis, design, installation, maintenance, operation, documentation, and planning of infrastructure, telecommunications and networks.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Responsibility for day-to-day operation of the firm’s WAN infrastructure. Maintain Global network hardware in a fully operational condition as mandated by internal and external SLA's. Remediate incidents within defined Service Level Agreement guidelines.
  • Monitor internal and external compliance with the Firm’s information security policies and procedures. Identify non-compliant practices and assist with remediation.
  • Participate in defining the Firm’s DR/BCP practices as required by governance best practices.
  • Install and/or oversee the installation of all Global Network and Remote access services.
  • Perform periodic performance assessments and generally monitor network performance versus established internal and external service level agreements.
  • Establish and maintain network-related vendor relationships.
  • Provide status reports to the Network Manager as required.
  • Maintain the Firm's network-related information repositories (web, database, SharePoint)
  • Perform other relevant functions and tasks as assigned by the Network Manager
  • Travel as necessary to support security initiatives, systems, incidents, and projects.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Voice over IP technologies and deployments.
  • Knowledge of established policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Firewalls and common industry platforms.
  • Experience with Wide Area and Local Area Networks.
  • Understanding of concepts and operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied package programs for use with existing information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Experience

  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Firewalls and common network industry platforms.
  • Ability to gather and analyse facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to multitask, problem solve and liaise at various levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied package programs for use with existing information systems.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cisco CCNA or applicable experience
