Baker McKenzie’s Tax Practice is a leader within our Firm and one of the most highly regarded tax practices in the world. Ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global for its work worldwide, the Tax Practice is recognized by clients and industry peers for the quality tax advice it provides. Our Tax Practice expertly covers all aspects of tax planning and transactions, dispute resolution (both administrative and litigation), tax policy, transfer pricing, indirect taxes and wealth management tax advice and planning.
Baker McKenzie seeks a Mid-Level Tax Associate for its Tax Planning and Transactions practice. As part of this practice, you would be advising companies on and assisting in the implementation of complex cross-border transactions. You would also be drafting memoranda and opinions on the most current, complex US tax issues.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in international and corporate tax issues. The candidate must enjoy operating in a dynamic environment and be able to work with colleagues in different practice groups and countries. In addition, the successful candidate must enjoy learning and embracing new, developing areas of the tax law in which there is limited formal guidance. Top academic credentials are a prerequisite and an LLM in Taxation will be favorably considered.

This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $260,000 – 365,000 annually if located in an office in Washington, DC. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
