Baker McKenzie's Global Cross-Border Commercial, Franchise and Distribution Practice combines deep experience with technical knowledge and business acumen to address any franchise and brand-expansion-related issue, both domestically and globally. Our team has decades of experience advising franchisors on the structuring and operation of their franchise and other distribution programs. We represent brand companies throughout their life cycles employing various expansion methods, including traditional franchising, licensing, joint ventures, direct investment, and supply chain development. We have assisted our brand clients across the globe, and we are intimately familiar with the franchise laws and regulations in each jurisdiction.

Our Dallas office seeks a highly motivated Mid-level Associate for its Band 1 Chambers-ranked domestic and cross-border transactional/regulatory franchise practice, with our ideal candidate having 3-5 years of relevant experience in a transactional practice at a large law firm. We advise U.S. and foreign companies on cross-border commercial contract matters, domestic and international franchise and distribution matters, domestic and international brand expansion and various other transactional and advisory matters.

Candidates must have strong analytical and writing skills, exceptional speaking and interpersonal skills and the ability to function smoothly in a global-team environment with culturally diverse team members. Additionally, candidates must be admitted to and be a member in good standing of the Texas state bar.

This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $260,000 to $365,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
