Description
The Manager of Events, DC will oversee and manage the events and internal vendor relationship management for the Washington, DC office and engage with the internal service provider daily. This role is pivotal in orchestrating exceptional events that align with the Firm’s goals and values.
Main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams and oversee the execution of high-quality events that support Firm objectives, such as client meetings/receptions, training sessions, marketing events, and office-wide gatherings
- Oversee logistics, A.V., freight/loading dock reservations, COIs, and work in collaboration with the hospitality team
- Overall responsibility for the conference center to ensure rooms are consistent and meet expectations for all events
- In collaboration with the contractor manager, ensure that catering food and beverage services, including menu selection and dietary restrictions, align with requests
- Ensure appropriate food signage and linens/China are executed by the hospitality team, where appropriate
- Coordinate room setup styles (e.g., theatre style) and arrange for breakdown/reset with contractor manager
- Manage and cultivate relationships with internal vendors to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality hospitality, reception, facilities management, and office services
- Drive operational excellence, fostering a professional and welcoming environment
- Develop and implement an inventory system for hospitality-related areas to ensure optimal organization and reduce operational costs
- Arrange after-hours HVAC and communicate costs as appropriate
- Arrange for guest table set-up and contractor staffing as needed
- Coordinate after-hours overtime for contractor staff (e.g., Williams Lea) to escort guests and assist with after-hours events as needed
Skills and experience:
- Proven experience in events and conferencing center management within a law firm or corporate environment
- Strong event coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to build strong vendor relationships
- Problem-solving aptitude to tackle complex logistical challenges
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in events management

This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on the number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $113,000 to $122,000 annually if located in the Washington, D.C. office. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
