Description

Baker McKenzie seeks an associate attorney with an interest in focusing on US customs work with an emphasis on customs valuation, free trade agreements, country of origin, trade remedies, border measures (including global safeguards and special tariffs), antidumping/countervailing duties, and supply chain issues. The position is in the Firm's Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have three (3) to four (4) years' experience in customs and inbound trade as well as transactional work. Specific experience related to administrative proceedings before US Customs and Border Protection, particularly enforcement proceedings, as well as proceedings before the US Department of Commerce, US International Trade Commission, US Court of International Trade, and the development of internal import/customs compliance programs is preferred.  

The ideal candidate must also be proactive, comfortable working independently, have strong academic credentials, excellent analytical, communication and writing skills, an ability and willingness to collaborate across teams and cultures, strong organizational skills and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment. Major law firm experience strongly preferred. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar or be eligible to waive into the District of Columbia Bar to apply.
