Description

Baker McKenzie seeks a staff attorney for its Compensation Practice Group to reside in our San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago office.  Our North America Compensation Practice Group provides clients with “one stop” domestic and international counseling on all compensation arrangements, with an emphasis on global share plans.  We assist multinational companies of all sizes with designing, implementing and maintaining their equity incentive and other compensation arrangements, and work seamlessly with our colleagues across the globe to stay on top of tax and regulatory developments affecting the arrangements.   

The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent project management, communication and writing skills, and will remain current on issues of U.S. and non-U.S. securities, tax, currency control, employment, and other laws affecting various compensation arrangements. The ideal candidate will have experience in advising companies on executive compensation, employee benefits and other incentive and compensation arrangements.  We will also consider candidates with a strong global tax or corporate law background.  Major law firm experience is a plus.  Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the Bar in the state of employment.

This is a staff attorney position with a billable hour requirement of 1,600 hours per year.

Additional Information:

This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $140,000 to $170,000 annually if located in an office in the state of New York, Illinois and California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
