We are partnering with AbbVie, a leading multinational biopharmaceutical corporation, and Trench Rossi Watanabe in Brazil through our strategic cooperation agreement, on an important mentoring initiative that aims to support the career development of young lawyers from underrepresented communities in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Europe and Latin America.
The opportunity
Through the AbbVie & Baker McKenzie Young Lawyers Mentoring Program, our combined team of legal mentors will support the personal development of the selected mentees with conversations on career progression, skills development, and the opportunity to learn more about private practice and in-house careers.
This year’s program will run in 2 waves, from August to mid November 2025. Wave 1 (Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa) will commence in August, while Wave 2 (Europe and Latin America) will commence in September. The program consists of the following:
- Three one-on-one mentoring discussions
- One group mentoring circle
- One Soft Skills group training webinar conducted by Baker McKenzie’s Leadership & Learning team
- One Career Roundtable session to be hosted by AbbVie
Successful candidates are required to complete all training webinars and one-on-one/group discussions.

Who can apply
This AbbVie & Baker McKenzie Young Lawyers Mentoring Program is open to young lawyers of up to 3 years PQE and senior law students from Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Europe and Latin America. The program is open to both in-house and private practice lawyers.
