Description

The Senior Manager - BPPS Recruitment will manage and execute all Business Professional full-cycle talent acquisition activities across in-market and centers to deliver a first-class recruitment experience for all candidates and Hiring Managers. This role will be supported by a geographically dispersed team of recruitment manager/s; specialist/s and coordinator/s. The role will ensure consistent hiring standards, service delivery and alignment with workforce planning goals, with a focus on a direct sourcing strategy to attract and hire qualified talent.


Main responsibilities:

 

  • Lead full-cycle business professional recruitment across all offices and centers, ensuring alignment on workforce planning and operational priorities
  • Develop and execute scalable hiring strategies to support multi-function recruitment across diverse geographic markets
  • Standardize recruitment processes to increase efficiencies and candidate/hiring manager experience
  • Train recruitment team on utilizing direct sourcing methodologies, using appropriate talent attraction strategies to deliver lateral talent, reducing dependency on agencies and to reduce overall agency and head-hunter costs
  • Ensure consistent compliance with employment laws, internal policies and risk management protocols when recruiting across locations/geographies
  • Serve as primary point of contact to workforce planning team on open roles releases, assigning open vacancies to applicable recruiter/s
  • Work with Recruitment Directors to define and have process documentation for team to track recruitment KPIs that are measurable (e.g. time-to-fill, time-to-hire, offer acceptance rate, candidate source, cost savings etc.) to drive high-quality hiring outcomes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with functional Directors, understanding unique staffing requirements/challenges across different functions of business & professional services
  • Deliver full-cycle hiring execution and direct sourcing for senior level roles (e.g. Manager level and above)
  • Champion inclusive hiring practices to develop robust talent pipelines across all offices and centers
  • Provide deep functional knowledge and expertise, acting as a trusted advisor across the function and the business
  • Partner with and ensure effective collaboration and communication with in-market and center functional teams and administrators to drive best-in-class recruitment and functional cohesiveness
  • Through Avature and through other AI-powered solutions, identify sourcing tools to identify and engage passive talent; continual review of options to implement AI-driven resume screening, interview scheduling and skills-matching technology to enhance hiring accuracy and efficiency in partnership with relevant teams
  • Negotiate external agency supplier terms (as needed) and ensure team is maintaining a database of preferred external agencies and supplier terms
  • Develop external branding strategy playbook to promote vacancies, leveraging Think Baker McKenzie campaign and LinkedIn.
  • Participate in various recruiter organizations to increase personal networking, knowledge sharing and promotion of the Firm
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset to ensure that the Business Professional Recruitment team is keeping pace with the evolving nature of the business and external market best practices
  • Ad-hoc projects and tasks as set by the Directors of Recruitment 


Skills and experience:


  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Extensive talent acquisition experience across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, IT, Business Development, Marketing, Communications, and other support functions, in a multi-office professional service/law firm environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching and developing geographically dispersed recruitment teams
  • Strong international recruitment experience and knowledge of global employment regulations and recruiting compliance considerations
  • Strong track record in direct sourcing methodologies and delivery
  • Expertise in workforce planning, talent analytics and applicant tracking systems (ideally Avature)
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with a proven ability to relate to and gain the confidence of people
  • Able to work at pace, problem solve and deliver solutions against tight timelines
  • Excellent communication skills with both team members, direct reports and senior and executive stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with minimal direction and proactively takes initiative within a globally dispersed team
  • Able to bring good judgement and empathy to sensitive situations
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment
