Role Purpose 

To lead and execute all lateral Partner related recruitment activities for the EMEA region, working closely with and providing first class support to the Director of Recruitment, EMEA.  Continuously improve and further implement lateral Partner recruitment processes that are aligned with overall regional and global recruitment strategy and lateral hiring plans (and that are scalable across the Region). Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, including EMEA leadership, Office Management, Global and Regional Practice Group Leads ("GPGLs / RPGLs"), Partners and People function professionals on processes and recruitment best practice.  Work as part of the Recruitment Leadership team to develop and deliver lateral partner hiring priorities, ensuring a best-in-class lateral Partner recruitment process and candidate experience.

 
Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with and support Director of Recruitment, EMEA, EMEA Leadership and RPGLs to determine and deliver specific lateral partner recruitment priorities and recruitment strategies including, but not limited to developing go to market strategy, opportunity profiles and defining and executing sourcing plans
  • Continue to enhance current and develop new processes, creating efficiencies with respect to the lateral partner recruitment process; Contribute to knowledge sharing among other partner recruiting leads across the Firm
  • Effectively lead and execute EMEA lateral Partner hiring and key priority searches (e.g. growth, strategic investment), working with Business Managers, Recruitment Business Partners and TM Business Partners to offer high quality support to office/s and Practice Groups Leadership, to develop and deliver a best-in-class lateral Partner recruitment process and candidate experience
  • Execute all approved partner recruitment searches and effectively maintain high touch and first class communication with and reporting to RPGLs, Sponsoring Partners, Director of Recruitment EMEA and other key stakeholders on status and activity
  • Responsibility for preparing, managing and inputting as appropriate on lateral partner documentation, including preparing papers and communications as part of the Firms voting and approvals processes
  • Proactively develop and manage relations with preferred search firms and initiate and participate in search firm meetings in EMEA to promote the Firm and lateral opportunities
  • Proactively develop and execute recruitment strategies that drive creative sourcing methodologies and reduce dependency on head-hunters and agencies
  • Work with the Director of Recruitment, EMEA, Associate Director of Recruitment, EMEA and Recruitment Business Partners to ensure the Firm has fee agreements in place with all search firms and agencies, ensuring the best possible terms with the Firm’s recruitment suppliers and that arrangements support and underpin the Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) strategy of the Firm, ensuring best practice
  • Ensure that recruitment activities and initiatives support and are aligned to the I&D strategy of the Firm and that I&D is embedded in all processes, with reporting responsibility.  Devise and implement innovative strategies to attract diverse candidates
  • Liaise with multiple key stakeholders (including GPGLs, RPGLs, Finance, Business Managers etc.) to develop lateral Partner documentation based on critical evaluation of candidate's papers and interviews; Liaise with hiring Partners and EMEA Leadership on all proposed compensation packages
  • Ensure that all recruitment processes and communications support the Firm’s brand and that the Firm provides a world-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment and selection process
  • Ensure partner recruiting team executes all interview schedules, with support from E2E / business support including: Distribute recruiting materials to prospective lateral candidates and develop and send candidate briefing materials to interviewers; Collect interviewer evaluations; ensure effective working with E2E / support to ensure working is seamless, processes and streamlined and efficient and the provide a high quality candidate experience and fully support the recruitment function
  • Ensure EMEA+ partner recruiting team effectively works with GC / Risk and New Business Intake department to process all conflict checks; (sponsoring Partners of laterals will clear all potential conflicts)
  • Ensure EMEA+ Partner recruiting team liaises with Lateral Integration program stakeholders to ensure successful on-boarding (including e.g. background check processing, etc.) and pre-arrival onboarding matters are coordinated for incoming laterals
  • Network with Firm partners, legal recruiters and other law firm recruitment professionals in an effort to stay abreast of market trends and activity in the legal community
  • Ensure EMEA Partner recruiting team members effectively maintain all partner candidates in ATS and on EMEA lateral tracking spreadsheets, dashboards etc.
  • Send regular reporting and metrics as agreed and defined to Director of Recruitment, EMEA and various Leadership members, as required; participate in EMEA Leadership Partner recruiting calls
  • Prepare / review / approve / send all proposed lateral candidate hiring papers and memos to relevant stakeholders for approval (e.g. EMEA Leadership, EC and PC) as needed
  • Take a lead role in the Partner Recruiting stream, responsible for developing best practice, driving and implementing strategic objectives and focused on key initiatives and projects, working in collaboration with other Partner stream leads globally to underpin the global recruitment strategy and regional plans.
  • Participate and/or lead on a recruiting projects as they relate to the annual EMEA wide Recruitment strategy / plan
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance across the wider Recruitment function; Coach and develop recruitment professionals across the region

 

 

Experience Required

 
Technical skills, qualifications and experience
  • Significant demonstrable experience running strategic, high volume Partner recruitment in a complex global organisation
  • Experience of leading and managing teams, with a track record of development and coaching team members
  • Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills and effective stakeholder management
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint); ATS management; MI and reporting
  • Able to work at pace, problem solve and deliver solutions against tight timelines
  • Able to bring good judgement, strategic thinking and empathy to sensitive situations
  • Experience of working in a Professional Services organisation
