The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial solicitor with a track record of dealing with a wide variety of legal issues and an ability to hit the ground running, offering pragmatic, sensible legal advice to a high standard and to challenging deadlines. 
You will work on high value and complex projects as well as routine commercial contract matters, developing skills to deliver the highest quality service for our world-class clients across the globe. You will develop strong working relationships with partners, lawyers and business professionals across multiple sectors in a variety of jurisdictions and contribute to the identification of innovative services and methods to assist in achieving efficiencies and continual process improvement. You will also work with and provide support to other teams within the Belfast and Tampa Centres.
The ComTech Unit is part of the Alternative Legal Services team which operates within the Belfast Service Centre. The ComTech Unit is responsible for providing support primarily to the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group across multiple jurisdictions, including UK, UAE, Asia Pacific and North America. The ComTech Unit works with members of the Transaction Support Group and Disputes Support Group in the Firm's Belfast Centre, in a "one team" approach, assisting with bespoke projects and other advisory matters, as required.

Experience Required

Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales or Northern Ireland
  •  Strong experience in data protection and privacy, IT contracts, software licensing and technology agreements
  • Experience in a broad range of commercial and contractual matters, including: supply and distribution agreements, manufacturing agreements; standard terms of business; advertising and marketing advice; and due  diligence projects
  •  Strong communication skills
  • Sound commercial awareness and service orientation - a "client first" culture
  • Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence
  • Strong attention to detail - get it right first time
  • A "self-starter" who is collaborative, pragmatic, commercial and adaptable in their approach
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and online research tools
  • Excellent writing and organisation skills - used to balancing work priorities and managing deadlines
  • Good decision-making and communication skills
  • Able to work well in both a team and individually, with others of various experience levels
