The commercial Lawyer will work on high value and complex matters, developing skills to deliver the highest quality service for our world-class clients across the globe. You will develop strong working relationships with partners and lawyers in all sectors/departments in a variety of jurisdictions and contribute to the identification of innovative services and methods to assist in achieving efficiencies and continual process improvement.
You will be responsible for providing support to a number of the Firm's practices, primarily the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group across multiple jurisdictions. The team works with members of the Transaction Support Group and Disputes Support Group in the Firm's Belfast Centre, in a "one team" approach, assisting with bespoke projects other than billable matters, as required.
The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial solicitor with a track record of dealing with a wide variety of legal issues and an ability to hit the ground running who can offer pragmatic, sensible legal advice to a high standard and to challenging deadlines.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified as a Lawyer in England & Wales or Northern Ireland
Strong experience in IT, software licensing and technology agreements
Experience in a broad range of commercial contracts, including: supply agreements, manufacturing agreements; advising on advertising and marketing queries; due diligence projects
Strong communication skills
Sound commercial awareness
Ability to review, analyse and organise documentary and factual evidence
Strong attention to detail - get it right first time
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and online research tools
Excellent writing and organisation skills - used to balancing work priorities and managing deadlines
Good decision-making and communication skills
Able to work well in both a team and individually, with others of various experience levels
