The Contract Manager (Legal) - Procurement Strategy and Operations will act as the lead resource which ensures contracts under the remit of the Procurement Strategy and Operations function (PSO) are in compliance with the standards developed with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to mitigate the financial, legal and business risk of the Firm as associated with the acquisition of goods and services.

The Contract Manager (Legal) - Procurement Strategy and Operations will assume overall responsibility for the management of the contracting process for the Firms Global Procurement Strategy and Operations function which includes contract drafting, review and negotiation of contract terms; partner with the Procurement lead for each agreement and the Firms' OGC on legal standards for commercial contracts, manage and oversee the maintenance of the contract repository/Contract Management System and maintain and develop contract templates and standard terms.


  • Ensure contracts for goods and services are in compliance with established Firm standard terms and conditions including those for Data Privacy and GDPR
  • Provide specialist legal advice to the Senior Manager and across the Procurement (PSO) function on complex commercial and legal clauses, becoming a trusted and well-respected professional advisor to whom others come for guidance and input
  • Oversee the management of the PSO contract repository and ongoing development and implementation of a global Contract Management System (Procurement)
  • Manage the team responsible for all contract template documents with input from the OGC and disseminate this across the PSO team and business
  • Manage the development of new contract templates with input from the OGC as required by the PSO
  • Manage the legal review and negotiation of new contracts or contract renewals, in conjunction with the Procurement Lead, or independently as may be required and in consultation with the Office of General Counsel
  • Manage and oversee the contract execution process between the Firm and vendor
  • Oversee and offer guidance to Contract Analysts on the issuance, execution and version control of Firm-Standard Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement for any vendor, potential vendor or request by Clients for security assessments
  • Implement and oversee any required changes to the NDA process as directed by the OGC
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Director, Senior Manager and other Procurement Manager(s) to foster growth, innovation and operational efficiency in the ongoing transformation of our world-class procurement team
  • Mentor and develop the Contracts Team members within the PSO
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Experience Required

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a legal discipline
  • Good relevant experience in a contract review, and coordination role to include the provision of specialist legal guidance in relation to the formation of commercial contracts
  • Strong working understanding of commercial contract structure and contract terms related to the procurement of goods and services
  • Experience in the provision of advice on complex commercial clauses including Data Privacy and GDPR
  • Excellent MS Office skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • People management and development experience
  • Experience of working within a professional services environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, maintaining a professional presence
  • Ability to coordinate various tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary
  • Show initiative; demonstrate ability to be innovative in problem solving
