Description

The Testing and Data Validation Specialist I, IPTech Projects – Contract (12 months) will ensure the integrity and quality of data during the onboarding and offboarding of clients in the new Symphony Intellectual Property Management System under Project Edison. The role holder will conduct meticulous tests throughout different stages of development to identify and resolve potential issues. Their attention to detail is crucial in validating data accuracy, consistency, and reliability, which is vital for the project's success. 

They are also responsible for thoroughly cleaning up the data to ensure the final product is free from errors and discrepancies. Furthermore, they work closely with other Project Edison team members, the Symphony vendor, and the testing team members, including those from the IP Support Unit (IPSU) operations teams, to align on requirements, development, migration stages, and timelines for successful testing delivery. The individual will support the project's objectives and uphold the high standards of excellence expected in all aspects of Project Edison.

Responsibilities:

Testing and Data Validation:

  • Collaborate with the project team and Symphony vendor to design and execute testing strategies for Project Edison
  • Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Cleanse and transform data as needed, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Coordinate with the members of the IPSU operations teams who support the testing efforts
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide insights
  • Document test plans, procedures, and results
  • Communicate critical errors to the project team, and provide relevant solutions as needed
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate findings effectively

Process Improvement:

  • Identify improvement in existing testing strategies and test plans
  • Identify opportunities to enhance functionalities, existing processes, and documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to Symphony adoption and documentation practices

Other:

  • Work closely with IPSU Director, Project Manager, Business Product Lead, Project Edison members (including other functional specialist team members), and Operations leaders and members, as well as BM technology teams, systems vendor, Baker McKenzie stakeholders, and clients for the successful implementation of the Project
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the IPSU Management Team

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and with good academic credentials
  • Proven experience with enterprise technology projects, data testing, validation, and clean-up
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Experience in Salesforce IP management systems or IP-related projects is an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective decision-making skills, provide solutions with the business objectives in mind
