Description

The Research Librarian (Service Center) will manage and deliver information and research services within the context of the Firm's Information and Research (I&R) strategy; work with the end-to-end Legal Research and/or Business Research Team Leader and Manager, In-Market Information & Research Managers and Research Librarians, Country Knowledge Partners, Knowledge Lawyers and local Knowledge teams; and act as the a point of contact for information and research requests and enquiries

Responsibilities:

Service Orientation

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with In-Market I&R Managers and Research Librarians, Country Knowledge Partners and Lawyers, the end-to-end Business Research team and Information Product Management team, and other Knowledge Services teams 
  • Demonstrate value through effective communication with stakeholders and key relationships

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Understand and promote the role and functionality of the Firm's research, content and information repositories and resources
  • Undertake legal research (and assist with business research as required) on request from lawyers and In-Market research librarians, and proactively when aware of users' areas of interest, and support and deliver information alert management, information product management, horizon scanning and other I&R services as required
  • Demonstrate ongoing learning and professional accountability that cultivates communication and collaboration, fostering immediate and long-term goals
  • Support the development and delivery of research training plans and programmes for trainees and lawyers, and assess learning opportunities for workplace excellence
  • Ensure and facilitate timely access to relevant legal information and research resources to support lawyers providing advice to clients
  • Work with regional I&R Managers and Research Librarians, IPM staff, I&R Team Leader and Legal Research/Business Research Managers, liaises with internal clients to learn about their business focus and information needs
  • Apply industry thinking, initiative and experience when providing information and research

People Management

  • Collaborative, supportive, team player working with In-Market Resarch Librarians, other Research team members, IPM team members, Knowledge Services staff, and the wider Information & Research and Knowledge communities

Work Management

  • Support and participate in the adoption and use of Knowledge and I&R systems
  • Participate in and lead projects as requested
  • Be aware of and participate in Firm's and I&R group goals. Participate in setting and aligning I&R group goals with PG goals, managing resources, and evaluating use. Report on usage and space management

Experience Required

  • Relevant undergraduate degree
  • Good relevant experience with strong experience of Knowledge, information and research in professional services environment
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, build strong relationship virtually, communicate effectively, comfortable working in large, complex environment, highly credible and persuasive
  • Strong people management and organizational skills; ability to prioritise and manage people's time to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and sense of urgency in setting strategies and executing against the objectives
  • Proven ability to influence, interact and consult with senior leaders, strong collaboration skills and effective stakeholder management
  • Strong communication skills, and highly credible presentation skills
  • Comprehension of a diverse set of knowledge and information resources
