Description

The Occupational Safety & Health Specialist will enforce and comply with the occupational safety and health standards in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Adopt and implement administrative policies on safety in accordance with the provisions of the mandated standards from OSH
  • Create and submit reports on safety performance, safety committee meetings and its recommendations and measures taken to implement the recommendation
  • Assess and act on recommended safety measures especially on building facilities and equipment
  • Provide access to appropriate authorities
  • Orient employees on safety policies
  • Report unsafe conditions and recommend solutions to mitigate findings
  • Oversee the Safety and Health and the Emergency Response Committees/ Teams respectively
  • Conduct periodic assessments within office premises and recommends immediate actions on safety, health, and work standard compliance
  • Coordinate and assist government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection
  • Record and monitor safety and health incidents (such as accidents and illnesses) and reports the same
  • Prepare and conduct employee programs that promotes safety in the workplace
  • Prepare government mandated reports related to occupational safety and health
  • Coordinate with building administration in the conduct of safety programs of the company
  • Ensure the accreditation and/or certification of required occupational, safety, and health programs for employees
  • Collaborate with building admin in resolving facility safety concerns and issues received from function leaders
  • Bgreen Program (Environment Sustainability)
  • Assist in developing environmental sustainability plans with the Administration team
  • Facilitate in complying with regulatory requirements of DENR and PEZA in terms of waste management and disposal
  • Closely work with the Administration in implementing and monitoring Bgreen projects and activities
  • BCP
  • Analyze potential areas of weakness and gather key information –such as contact lists and technical diagrams of systems - that can be useful outside of disaster situations
  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of business contingency plan of the company
  • Lead the business continuity planning process which help the firm improve its communication, technology and resilience
  • Lead the Gold team in the development, implementation, communication and monitoring of BCP controls and measures
  • Create and release BCP communications and announcements during BCP events
  • Oversee and aid in the review, procurement and distribution of BCP materials and logistics
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of BCP controls and utilization of BCP logistics during BCP activation
  • In absence of BCP situations, assist the BCP Gold Team on the communication and dissemination of the basic BCP procedures to employees through orientations and learning events
  • Perform other functions that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in related Engineering, Management, or equivalent
  • Strong and solid experience in occupational health and safety
  • Knowledgeable in building administration, and certified in work standards and occupational safe and health
  • Safety Officer 3 (SO3) with:
    • 40-hour basic training course applicable to the industry
    • Additional 48 hours advanced/specialized occupational training course
    • Other requirements by OSH standards
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint (preferred) or other web-site development tools (preferred) as well as familiarity with database management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work requirements
