Description

The IP Pricing Analyst I is responsible for the creation and updating of the Global Flat Fee Schedules, IPSU clients' fee schedules, and local offices' client-specific fee schedules. Under the guidance of the IP Pricing Team Leader, they will coordinate with Baker McKenzie offices and corresponding law firms in obtaining the firms' fee schedules, identifying the exact services provided per fee, noting discounts as appropriate, monitoring and chasing agent responses, and updating reports or documents in accordance with the clients' and/or requestors' specifications.

Responsibilities:

Provide administration and central coordination support (40%)

  • Coordinate with the IPTech partners of each Baker McKenzie office to ensure completion of IP Flat Fee related projects including but not limited to the yearly Baker McKenzie Global Flat Fee schedules. 
  • Liaise with Global Flat Fee contacts in each local office, providing suggestions/recommendations on Flat Fee-related matters, ensuring that fee schedules are accurate and in accordance with each office’s guidelines
  • Update flat fee schedules 
  • Assist Baker McKenzie offices in setting up and maintaining IPSU-acquired clients' and their local clients' flat fee schedules. 
  • Coordinate with the managing offices regarding clients' fee requirements; provide suggestions/recommendations on how flat fees should be initially set up; set up, maintain, and update the client schedules
  • Coordinate any updates or changes in the local intellectual property laws as announced by the offices
  • Coordinate and negotiate with Baker McKenzie offices and correspondent law firms regarding services, fees and discounts
  • Coordinate with clients regarding the required fee information, as needed 
  • Monitor, follow up and collate responses, update fee schedules/forms
  • Finalize reports within the agreed deadline assuring the quality and accuracy of the report
  • Monitor, verify, and note changes, developments and trends to flat fee schedules of Baker McKenzie offices, correspondent law firms, and other competitor IP law firms
  • Research competitor pricing and provide summaries for the Pricing Team Leader's review and approval
  • Liaise with and assist other functions within IPSU and the Firm by providing pricing-related updates
  • Draft business emails from scratch in a brief and concise manner
  • Attend team meetings and client calls as needed

Provide research and documentation support (40%)

  • Assist in the creation of Pricing-related reports and documents 
  • Assist in the maintenance of pricing-related manuals, templates, applications and reports
  • Maintain a database on global pricing per agent and agent contact details including gathering and collating data necessary for future reference 
  • Run reports in the various IP management and billing systems

Support other planned and ad hoc requests (20%)

  • Prepare other reports as may be required
  • Create weekly update reports
  • Undertake other responsibilities and activities as may be determined and agreed between the Pricing Team Leader and the GMT

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any financial related course
  • Good experience in a corporate/professional services financial environment an advantage
  • Previous experience working as part of virtual team an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and comprehension skills
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Above average oral and written English communication skills
