Description

The Benefits Specialist / Specialist 1, Talent Operations will administer GSM benefits programs and implement the Firm's compensation and benefits policies.

Responsibilities:

Benefits Program Administration

  • Administers enrolment, update, and cancellation of employees and their dependents in the program
  • Ensure the firm complies with regulatory requirements for mandated benefits implementation and application
  • Promote employee self-service help through online bulletin
  • Conduct consultative initiatives with employees about benefits eligibility and applications. 

Design and Improvement

  • Analyze current and future benefits trend in order to develop relevant programs apt to GSM's demographics
  • Participate in market study or surveys to gain better grasp of what needs to be improved or retained in our current list of benefits
  • Review of the Firm's benefits are compliant or better than the mandated benefits

Communication

  • Prepare all benefits related announcements. (Circulars if needed, updates in the programs if there's any, reminders, etc.) 
  • Design communication plans to increase employee awareness, knowledge and utilization of benefits 
  • Conduct/assist in the new joiners and new leaders orientation 

Manage employee data

  • Organize, audit, cleanse, and maintain HR data, ensuring that all HR-related data is accurate and up-to-date
  • Manage HR systems by taking ownership of HR data manipulation and reporting, streamlining HR processes, and helping to manage HR information systems
  • Update electronic employee records and prepare HR documents
  • Provide effective support services to end users and be the first point of contact for HR queries about employee information and data
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices
  • Work with HR team members to understand data needs, provide solutions, and train staff on data management procedures

Projects

  • Suggest projects to support and improve benefits administration
  • Introduce automation projects to simplify the administration or implementation of benefits
  • If applicable, project management if there will be new program system implementation and system changes

  • Proficient in various MS Office applications including but not limited to Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Good understanding and application of regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience in benefits administration, design, and reporting is preferred
  • Willing to extend work hours if necessary
