Baker & McKenzie is consistently recognized as one of the leading and largest international law firms in Asia and globally. We provide dedicated legal services across the spectrum of corporate law and have been doing business in Hong Kong and China for 50 years. Our team of more than 300 lawyers has the deep local roots and integrated global reach to help domestic and multinational companies seamlessly manage even the most complex cross-border transactions.

Baker McKenzie Hong Kong will run two Summer Clerkship programmes in June and July 2019. This is a comprehensive four week programme and aims to give students the opportunity of experiencing first hand what it is like to work at the Firm. In addition to getting to know the Firm's culture, vacation clerks will participate in the training programme available to trainees and junior lawyers, and be exposed to the type of work typically undertaken by them. The clerkship programme is the main pathway into securing a training contract with the Firm, as clerks who perform well during the programme will be selected to join our Hong Kong office as trainee solicitors after they have completed their legal studies and their Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (P.C.LL). Participation is therefore mandatory for those seeking a 2021 training contract.

Experience Required

Candidates should be in their penultimate year of study of their law degree programme, have strong academic results, fluent Chinese languages skills (written and spoken) and be firmly committed to establishing a legal career in Hong Kong
