The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate with 3-6 years' experience to join our Transactional Practice Group (Energy, Resources, Infrastructure & Corporate) in Brisbane.
The Team
Our Transactional Practice Group is at the forefront of providing commercially astute advice to major Australian and global companies. We are particularly well known for our high-end mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and private equity practices. We have one of Australia's largest dedicated energy, infrastructure and resources teams, with experience in all Australian jurisdictions. With offices across the globe, we provide our clients with something that no other Australian law firm can offer – a leading Australian practice with access to an integrated global platform.
Our areas of experience and the work involved include joint ventures and alliances, privatisation/corporatisations, M&A transactions, energy, resources and utilities, as well as corporate governance and compliance, corporate advisory, due diligence and foreign investment. The majority of our clients are working towards decarbonisation and energy transition, and we are at the forefront of this work.
Our lawyers assist clients through all stages of a transaction, from preparing the business for sale, or performing due diligence or structuring advice to prepare for investment, to negotiating the transaction and project documents, coordinating the closing across multiple jurisdictions, and executing delivery or integrating the operations of the resulting business, alliance or transformation. Recent notable transactions include: Shell Energy and Infrastructure Capital Group's acquisition of Meridian Energy; Genex's project financing and development of its 250MW Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project; Santos' joint venture partnership with Beach Energy for the Moomba CCS Project; Neoen on a number of renewable project acquisitions and equity financing for the Hornsdale Wind Farm; Ark Energy on its investment in the 1,000 MW MacIntyre Wind project.
