The Role

We are currently looking for a General Associate with 2-4 years’ PQE in debt capital markets and structured finance/securitisation. Broad general banking and finance experience is also desirable.

The Team

Our Debt Capital Markets practice is at the forefront of providing commercially astute advice to major Australian and global clients. Our transactions are not only in the Australian market but a significant number are offshore. Our expertise has been reflected in our DCM team being finalists both in the Australasian Law Awards and in the Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers 2018. With offices across the globe, we provide our clients with something that no other Australian law firm can offer – a leading Australian practice with access to an integrated global platform.

Our Debt Capital Markets practice advises on a broad range of transactions including domestic and offshore debt programmes, high yield bonds, additional Tier 1 and Tier 2 issues, green bonds, sustainability bonds, social impact bonds, structured finance and securitisation transactions.

Duncan McGrath leads the Banking & Finance and DCM team. He is a high-profile, senior debt capital markets lawyer. Duncan was previously a partner at Gilbert + Tobin, where he established and headed that firm's DCM and securitisation practice and has also worked at Allens, Allen & Overy and Goldman Sachs.

The firm is expanding its Debt Capital Markets practice globally, including in Sydney, where it is experiencing strong client demand.
