The Role

We are currently looking for an Associate with 2 -4 years' experience to join our Commercial Real Estate Practice in Sydney.

The Team

Our Commercial Real Estate Group assists major local and international clients in maximising the efficiency of their real estate investment portfolios throughout Australia, the Asia Pacific and beyond. 

We assist real estate fund managers, private equity investors, hotel owners, public and private sector clients (including high net worth clients), project financiers, developers and property trusts doing business across Australia and in offshore markets. We have also built a reputation for helping large corporations and luxury brands meet their real estate needs by successfully negotiating commercial agreements for lease, leases and other arrangements to assist them in meeting their specialized accommodation and facility requirements as well as developing outsourcing solutions. Our group is renowned for its hotels practice and, in the last year, has acted on most of Australia’s largest hotel sales, acquisitions and mergers and acquisitions.

Working closely with our global offices and our Construction, Hotels Resorts & Tourism, REITs, Taxation, Employment, Corporate and Financial Services groups, we provide comprehensive, high-quality legal services to our clients, in their activities in Australia and across the globe.

Qualifications & Experience

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • minimum 2 - 4 years'  property law experience in commercial sales and acquisitions, commercial and retail leasing, and real estate due diligence;
  • relevant experience in a top tier or leading international firm preferred;
  • a strong client service orientation;
  • strong technical, drafting and commercial skills;
  • business development aptitude, interest, and experience;
  • relevant legal qualifications;
  • strong academic background;
  • excellent analytical, communication, and research skills;
  • commitment to high work standards;
  • ability to demonstrate initiative and proactivity; and
  • ability to develop strong relationships with clients and to take responsibility for this relationship;
  • ability to work well in a team environment (including across Australian offices and internationally); and
  • willingness to learn.
