Biography

Marta Zuliamis joined Baker McKenzie's Vienna office in March 2012. She is a counsel and member of the Banking and Finance Practice Group currently based in Frankfurt. Prior to joining the Firm, Marta worked in the compliance department of a well-known banking and financial services provider.

Practice Focus

Marta has experience across a broad spectrum in the areas of banking and finance. She regularly advises German, Austrian and foreign banks, financial institutions and corporates on banking and finance law matters, with a focus on trade and export finance as well as securitisation transactions and other structured finance matters. She also has significant experience in acquisition finance, project finance as well as regulatory and capital markets law matters.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acting for German banks in relation to a number of ECA-covered financings for the Nigerian Presidential Power Initiative.
  • Acting for a German bank in relation to several ECA-backed financings to sovereign borrowers in relation to projects in Africa and Asia.
  • Acting for a German bank in relation to a Sinosure-backed financing of a PVC plant in Bangladesh.
  • Acting for German, Italian and Turkish banks in relation to a SACE and UKEF-backed financing of the upgrade of an existing ammonia plant and the construction of a urea plant in Turkey.
  • Acting for a German bank in relation to a SACE-backed push facility for infrastructure projects by a Turkish municipality.
  • Acting for a Spanish bank in relation to the securitization of a German auto loans portfolio.
  • Acting for various German, French, Japanese and US banks as joint lead managers on various securitization transactions of German auto loans and auto leases.
  • Acting for an Austrian bank on the first securitization of consumer loan receivables in Austria.
  • Acting for an Austrian bank on the securitization of its Austrian auto loan receivables portfolio.
  • Acting for various German banks on various multijurisdictional trade receivables securitization transactions.
  • Acting for Thor Industries, Inc. an NYSE-listed multinational manufacturer of recreational vehicles, on its EUR 2.1 billion acquisition of Erwin Hymer Group, a German-based manufacturer of recreational vehicles.
