Biography

Nastassja Walschot is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution & Arbitration Practice Group and the International Trade & Commerce Practice Group, based in Brussels. She worked as a trainee in 2014 and 2015 and joined the Firm as an associate in 2016.

Nastassja is also a teaching assistant at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

Practice Focus

Nastassja's practice consists mainly of assisting national and international clients in their contentious matters before judicial courts and arbitral tribunals, as well as in investigations and compliance matters. She also advises clients in various legal aspects of business, commercial, public and contract law.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Assisted a leading technology company in an arbitration before CEPANI in relation to the construction of their data centres.
  • Assisted a leading international corporate insurance company in relation to a large multinational litigation before Belgian courts.
  • Assisted a leading telecom company in annulment proceedings before the Council of State in relation to the award of a public procurement contract for telecom services in the Walloon Region.
  • Assisted a leading pharmaceutical firm in an international dispute on compliance with pharma regulations.
  • Assisted an international organization in a dispute involving several countries and public authorities with public finance and third-party attachment questions.
  • Assisted individuals in two major related arbitrations before the ICSID and ICC in relation to the financing and construction of a commercial harbour through public procurement proceedings in Eastern Europe.
  • Assisted a Belgian public authority in a competitive dialogue procedure to build a new neighbourhood in Brussels.
  • Assisted an iconic motorcycle manufacturer in proceedings before Belgian and EU courts in relation to import taxes.

Secondment

  • Secondee at an international leading firm in the food and distribution sector, advising on contentious matters as well as on day-to-day commercial and compliance/regulatory questions, including public procurement (June to August 2018).
  • Secondee at a leading IT consulting firm, assisting in international contentious matters (notably in Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, France and Belgium – November 2018 to March 2019).
