Biography

Niraj is a senior associate in Baker McKenzie's Corporate M&A practice in London. Since joining the Firm as a trainee in 2017, Niraj has acted on a number of complex cross-border transactions and has experience in joint venture arrangements, corporate reorganisations and private equity and infrastructure transactions.

Niraj spent seven months seconded to a global pharmaceutical company from late 2022 to early 2023. Niraj also spent six months seconded to the Firm's Tokyo office in 2019.

Representative Legal Matters

Advising:

  • Coats Group plc on (i) its acquisition of OrthoLite for USD 770 million; (ii) the sale of its European Zips business to Aequita; and (iii) the acquisition of Texon, the global shoe components business, from Navis Capital Partners for USD 297 million.
  • UST on its acquisition of a majority stake in Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A., a historic automotive design and engineering firm, from Automobili Lamborghini.
  • Puig on its acquisition of a majority stake in Byredo, the Swedish luxury brand.
  • Mondelēz International on (i) its acquisition of a majority stake in Grenade, a leading UK performance nutrition pioneer in the high protein bar segment, and (ii) its partnership with Merlin Entertainments in respect of Cadbury World.
  • Unilever on its acquisition of Paula's Choice, a leading digital-led global skincare brand, from TA Associates.
  • S&P Global on its merger with IHS Markit.
  • DPD on its joint venture in respect of, and strategic partnership with, YEEP! for the development of an Out-Of-Home parcel network in the UK.
  • Sandoz on two transactions with Aspen involving: (i) the divestment to Aspen of Sandoz' business in China; and (ii) Sandoz' acquisition from Aspen of the rights to certain anaesthetic products in Europe.
  • Lonza on the sale of two capsule and softgel manufacturing sites in France and Scotland to NextPharma.
  • GSK on the sale of a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Canada to Bora Pharmaceuticals.
  • Newly Weds Foods on its acquisition of JDM Food Group, a UK-based manufacturer of sauces and food ingredients.
  • Archer Daniels Midland on its acquisition Vandamme Hungaria Kft and its related entities, which operate a 700 metric ton/day non-GM crush and extraction facility in Hungary.
  • Northland Power on its joint venture with Shizen Energy for the development of offshore wind projects in Chiba Prefecture, Japan with a combined capacity of approx. 600 MW.
