Biography
Gijs van Dijk is an associate in the banking and finance practice at Baker McKenzie Amsterdam focusing on financial regulation, acquisition and leveraged finance, as well as general lending and advisory practice.
Practice Focus
Gijs advises companies and financial institutions on various aspects of Dutch and EU financial regulation. Among others, Gijs has experience with license applications as well as mergers and acquisition deals featuring financial regulatory aspects. Additionally, Gijs assists private equity firms with debt financing for acquisitions and refinancing of portfolio companies. Gijs also advises companies on general lending and financing questions and related matters.
Representative Legal Matters
- Assisted Lone Star Funds with the financing for its dual acquisition of the RadiciGroup's High Performance Polymers and Specialty Chemicals Businesses and DOMO Engineered Materials.
- Advised KBC Securities NV on its joint venture with Van Lanschot Kempen N.V.
- Assisted Egeria Capital Management with the financing for its acquisition of travel agency Tanzania Specialist and its related businesses.
- Assisted both lenders and borrowers with refinancing transactions for PE portfolio companies.
- Advised numerous non-EU banks on the implications of CRD VI on their lending practices in the Netherlands.
