Frankie Tam
Biography
Frankie Tam is a technology and data partner in Baker McKenzie. She focuses on digital transformation, cybersecurity, privacy and emerging technology including AI and blockchain. Frankie brings significant experience advising multinationals on a wide range of technology transactions, including cloud infrastructure and commercial contracts. She has counseled clients on data privacy and cybersecurity matters and has supported financial institutions and technology companies on strategic transactions involving digital currencies, Central Bank Digital Currencies and stablecoins.
Practice Focus
Frankie has served as a member of the Vetting Committee of Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission's General Support Programme, where she advised the Government on merits of technology projects. She is on the advisory board of the Stanford University's Responsible Digital Leadership Project. She teaches Data and Fintech programmes at postgraduate degrees.

- Provided cutting-edge legal advice to one of the top ten most valuable technology companies in the world, on the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence, data privacy and cybersecurity projects.
- Advised a financial regulator on a wide range of data and cybersecurity projects and technology contracting mandates, and provided strategic advice on digitalisation of critical financial services platforms.
- Advising a global insurance and financial services group in technology transactions to support the client’s digital transformation initiatives.
- Advised a global bank on its innovative loan channelling arrangement with a digital partner, to facilitate seamless integration of the digital partners’ platform with the bank’s systems, outsourcing key functions to the digital partners.
- Advised a multinational critical infrastructure corporation on cybersecurity and data strategy, as well as incident responses across Asia.
- Advised a global social media platform in cyber incidents by operating a 24-hour watch-floor to continuously support the client across time zones.
- Advised a global pharmaceutical trial company with data strategy across Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia.
