Biography

Laura Rietvelt joined Baker McKenzie Amsterdam in 2004 as a candidate civil-law notary and became a partner in the Corporate practice in 2022. She has a extensive experience in cross-border corporate matters and previously completed secondments with the Firm's London office and the legal department of IBM. Laura regularly publishes in legal journals and international media on corporate law and the management of complex, multijurisdictional reorganization projects.

Practice Focus

Laura focuses on the design, implementation and management of global restructurings, including post-acquisition integrations, spin-offs, carve-outs and supply chain restructurings. She advises on cross- border reorganizations, legal entity simplification and board and governance frameworks, working closely with tax, M&A, and employment colleagues to deliver practical, end-to-end solutions. Laura also co-leads the Retail team. Known for her strong understanding of client interests, she has led various international restructuring projects for our clients.
