Biography

Marcos Pérez is an of counsel in Baker McKenzie’s Employment & Compensation Practice Group in Madrid.

He has extensive experience in employment law, labour relations, social security, and occupational health and safety. Before joining Baker McKenzie, he pursued his career within the Spanish Central Government, serving as Deputy Director of Labour Relations and Advisor to the Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Labour. He also represented Spain before the European Union as Labour, Migration and Social Security Counsellor in Brussels.

Marcos is currently on leave from the Senior Corps of Labour and Social Security Inspectors. This background gives him a deep understanding of labour inspections, labour authorities, and the development and implementation of employment policies at national, European, and international levels.

Practice Focus

Marcos advises domestic and multinational companies on all aspects of employment law, including labor relations, hiring, business restructurings, collective bargaining, social security, occupational health and safety, labor inspections, and regulatory compliance. He also advises on international projects and complex regulatory matters, drawing on his experience in the public sector, European institutions, and private practice to deliver practical, strategic, and business-oriented solutions.

  • Advised domestic and multinational companies on workforce restructuring and business transformation projects, including collective redundancies, transfers of undertakings, changes to employment terms and conditions, and other workforce reorganization measures in both domestic and cross-border environments.
